Today I ran some errands and prepared for a floor Christmas party my dorm ladies were having (pic updates tomorrow!). I stopped by Relics Antique Mall (the biggest one in Missouri!) and drooled over so many fabulous items. It's. Seriously. The. Best. Place. Ever. Flea Market Mecca. All old-stuff lovers should make a hajj there.
It's got everything. Edwardian blouses. Snowball-shaped punch mugs. 60s pillbox hats. Big farm teapots. European wardrobes that probably go to Narnia. Victorian parasols. Amazingness.
I just love old stuff.
I got a few items, but they'll be revealed in future posts soon! One is a hat, and I almost fell over when I sort of tried it on in front of a mirror. So.... that's one thing I got; just wait 'til you see it!!!
I went a little crazy on photos, pardon me. There was so much that had to be captured and appreciated.

beautiful detail on a 1930s dress |

Gorgeous booth, lots of old, fabulous items! |

These shoes would SO be mine, except they are TINY. I wear a 5 and I can't even squeeze into these at all. They're probably a modern 3 equivalent. But SO CUTE and in GREAT condition. |

I love being in farm country. These cooking containers are HUGE, and the table they're on is made of a giant stump that's probably three or four feet across. HUGE kitchen stuff. Awesomeness. |

GORGEOUS. |

This was CRAZY.... I was in a flea market in southern Missouri and found these... they're Sudanese beads!!! Craziness! |

Besides a large rip on one side, this Victorian parasol was UH-MAY-ZING. I felt glamorous just holding it. |

Look at the cool shape of this set!!! |
I went there while I was in Springfield- AMAZING!!! I found some really affordable red bakelite earrings and bracelets and left a lucite purse behind that I really wish I would have grabbed. Springfield has the most affordable Victorian and Edwardian clothing that I have ever seen! There's an antique mall on the way to Sringfield, from St Louis- it's right by that big cheese outlet. Last time I was there, they had loads of colorful vintage gloves for a few bucks per pair! Oh, I miss Springfield!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty great! Vintage outfits get stared at more here 'cuz hardly anyone wears them, but if you can deal with that, Springfield has a lot to offer!
