This hat is what started the whole "Casablanca Week" idea! I saw it in a flea market and snatched it up (after realizing my sister wasn't going to buy it) for a measly three bucks! It's a more feminine type of fedora with a wider brim, and it flatters my round face better than normal fedoras tend to.
I decided to pair it with a suit (not matching pieces, but close!) and white shirt to mimic Ingrid's simple street-spy style in "Casablanca." I also like to incorporate some of my jewelry and accessories I've picked up in other countries, and a pendant made in Afghanistan that my mother just got me matched the green of the hat perfectly! It was a perfect little addition to the outfit, and I felt its international, "exotic" origins lent to the spy and intrigue feel pretty well!
shirt: Salvation Army Thrift Store
blazer: department store?
skirt: made by me
gloves: gifted
hat: Relics Antique Mall
shoes: Payless
necklace: from Afghanistan (made of a coin)
Very, very sophisticated - with just the teeniest bit of femme fatale thrown in. That hat is such a gem! I highly doubt I could have passed it by without taking it home with me either.
