Cloths of Heaven

Cloths of Heaven
William Butler Yeats

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

I love that poem.  The cloudiness, the dark, blue-ish tint to everything, and my pondering mood reminded me of it.

The weather here in southern Missouri has been so strange lately.  It was only a few days ago that I was out and about without a jacket, and some people even in shorts, and then the temperature dropped drastically and quickly. We had an ice storm!  We had to break a thick layer of ice that was covering our cars in solid sheets in order to even get in!  So crazy.  This Missouri weather keeps us on our toes, that's for sure.

Thus, with it being ridiculously cold outside, my sister and I opted for an indoors outfit shoot.  She said to apologize for the "unsightly background", but I think she did a pretty good job for shooting inside a college dorm without anything but a camera and and natural light from windows!

P.S.  I'm back in the U.S.!  Currently I'm getting over my jet lag "hangover", and I'll be posting about my trip in a few days when all my photos are ready!

  2. Such an absolutely beautiful outfit and hairdo, sweet gal. I love the pairing of a French twist sort of back with masses of 40s rolls in the front. So elegant and becoming ladylike.

    1. Thanks Jessica! I'm still having to work on updos (my finer, "slickery" hair doesn't always cooperate), but I'm glad this one worked out!
