Tulips and Bakelite

This was the outfit I wore today, and it gave me a chance to wear a couple of the new bakelite bangles I got from my grandparents as a graduation gift!  It's pretty great to have new color options, I won't lie.

I upcycled this blouse from one of my mother's old shirts, and I embroidered the top.  It's extremely light and comfortable, and it's one of my favorites to pair with cardigans!

I was also having a bad hair day because I didn't have a chance to set my hair last night and it was not lookin' so great.  So, I did this super easy, straight-hair-friendly 'do that turned out to be amazingly hardy and maintenance-free throughout the day.  With a bit of tweaking, I think it'll become one of my go-to 'dos!

Hardy Rain Outfit

This has been such a rainy summer, and it can be a bit tricky to dress nicely while still being able to walk to work.  This day I also happened to only be able to find a janky umbrella that promptly inverted the first time a small breeze hit.  Thus, I walked home during a bit of a summer shower.  You know what's crazy?  I took these pictures right after I got home!  Hardy outfit, huh?  I was quite pleasantly surprised!

Also, I may or may not have borrowed this hairdo from the "Land Girls" first season... Which I just discovered on Netflix.  Needless to say... I'm on season two and don't plan on pausing yet.

Most Fabulous Modern Kitchen Appliances Ever Made. Bar None.

Over the past weekend Jacob and I went to an appliance store to buy a washer and dryer.  While we were waiting to look at a set, I spotted THE most fabulous stove and fridge I had ever seen in my life.  They were an incredibly bright fire engine red with chrome trim, and they were fantastically vintage looking!  I, of course, ditched Jacob and scurried over to find out what the heck this amazingness was and how long I'd have to save up for one, and I was delighted to find there's an entire company devoted to recreating antique and vintage style appliances!

Busy Moving In!

Now that the wedding festivities are over, Jacob and I have begun the arduous process of moving into our new home!  Since all of my blogging supplies are still in boxes and we don't have internet connected at our house yet, the posts will still be coming slow.  However, as soon as we're a bit more settled, the posting shall be back with a vengeance!  I'm near to bursting with fun post ideas!

Meanwhile, unpacking and decorating.....

I'm especially pleased with how the kitchen is shaping up so far!

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

Right now, as you read this post, I am currently getting married!  My best friend, Jacob Rogers, and I are promising to spend the rest of our lives together.  When we make this promise, we don't take it lightly.  We are committing to each other that we will choose to love the other person every day because love is a choice, not just a feeling.

I.  Am.  So.  Excited.

I know it's going to be difficult.  I know there are times when I'm really going to want to do my own thing, to say something hurtful, to respond out of anger or hurt.  I pray and hope that I will respond with grace and be the loving and respectful wife that I want to be, to learn to cherish Jacob as he deserves to be cherished.

Life will have difficult times, that's just how it goes, but Jacob and I will stick together, and that's all there is to it.  We're in for the long haul with this marriage!

Obviously, there will be a bit of a pause on posts for the next couple weeks while we get our life stuff together and get into a routine.  However, hopefully toward the end of this month or early June I will have a surprise for you guys!
