Although her blog is eclectic and features a lot of different subjects, the focus is mainly on historical and vintage fashion.  She does an INCREDIBLE job creating historically accurate garments that are, you know, totally gorgeous.  Here's what she had to say about her journey to historical fashion and reenactments:

When I was in high school I volunteered at a small living history museum and had an internship at my local historical society. I joined my first re-enacting group around the same time and have never looked back...
I started off as a Civil War re-enactor but the 1750s to 1770s is mainly what I re-enact now. However, my fiancé and I are getting more involved with WWII events. Over the last several years, I've had the chance to attend a number of excellent clothing workshops and lectures and to examine original antique garments up close. I have a small but growing collection of antique items of my own. I love seeing how things were made in the past and find the inside of a garment to be as interesting as the outside. I’m fascinated by the details. It's amazing how little things can really make or break an historical outfit. Anything I make from the 1860s or earlier is all hand sewn.

However, she's also more recently gotten into vintage and recreating vintage fashions.  I love how she describes her reasons for loving vintage.  I, too, have felt the same joy at creating vintage styles, and I'm sure many of you sewing fans out there can identify!

My obsession with collecting, wearing, and sewing vintage clothing is more recent then my historical sewing endeavors. I'm really drawn to the clothing of the 1930s and 1940s; the styles are classic and so flattering. Even as a little kid I loved watching old Hollywood movies for the costumes. But now, seeing an outfit in a movie or vintage magazine and having the skills to recreate it - or something very similar - is a real thrill. With historical clothing you are often left with some questions about construction. I get a real kick out of using a vintage pattern and being able to say “yes, this is exactly how it was made!” One of my ultimate sewing goals is to offer in my Etsy shop a range a ready-made vintage inspired clothing and hats.

In addition to her blog that features historical and vintage costuming, Emily also has an Etsy shop and Facebook page.  Below I've shown pictures of some items from her shop, and I'm especially loving the orange-accented dress!  The shop features older vintage and vintage reproduction items ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s.  I find her prices quite reasonable and realistic, as well.  (Very refreshing in the vintage world, no?)

She has also offered all of you readers a 10% off discount in her shop using the coupon code BLOGFAN!  Go clicking and get to shopping!
