Bunches of Brooches and Other "Awesome Finds"

When I was in Michigan, my Grandma took me to a store called Awesome Finds.  It's a small boutique/flea market/home decor type of shop run by a mom and daughter team.

The shop has a great selection of pretty jewelry.  Most of it is 1950s and later and doesn't include a lot of plastics, but it's wonderful stuff, indeed!  My grandmother gifted me these brooches, jewelry, and earrings (real jade!):

I'm going to combine the scottie dog pendant with the blue and diamond rhinestone bar to make a cute pendant.  I think it'll work, when I get around to it!

  1. What pretty things :) I love the swallow earrings and the rhinestone set in the second-to-last picture in particular.

    1. I thought the bird earrings were even pretty hipster-ish and very now, yet they're vintage! Just goes to show that vintage will always be in again soon!

  5. Hello! I'm a longtime lurker, first-time commenter. Care to tell me where I might find some lovely vintage things in St. Louis for good prices?

    1. Haha, "lurker", that's great.
Anyways, I'm not really from the St. Louis area, so I don't have any specific leads for you. However, I get most of my stuff from flea markets, usually ones in small towns. I recommend you get out of the city and have a rural flea market adventure. Of course, not all of them are good, but I've found most of my gems in such small town places. Cheaper prices with the thrill of the hunt! (Also, there are a lot of good flea markets along I-44!)
