I have another hint for you guys, this time from the 1930s!
The 1930s is one of my favorite decades to wear on a daily basis (along with the 40s), though I don't have much in my collection. 30s clothing and patterns are harder to come by and construct, I've found. (Anyone else concur?) I did find something pretty on my shopping expeditions recently though.... You may see a pattern in the following garments as a hint...

I thoroughly concur - 1930s garments, though by no means impossible to find, are rapidly become scarcer and most costly often when you do find them (the same goes even more so for 1920s pieces). How fantastic that you found one for your own wardrobe. Based on the garments here, I'm guessing that it might be a lace dress? Can't want to hear more about whatever it is!

You are indeed onto something with the lace, wink wink!
DeleteThe 30s are one of my favorites too although I have no pieces from that era, partly because like you said, they are harder to come by, and when I do find something they can be quite costly. But I love them all the same and daydream about laying on my chaise lounge in my dressing gown quite often. =) Im guessing from these lovely dresses that what you found on your shopping trip is made of scrumptious lace.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the lace! Can't wait to show you guys!
DeleteI guess one reason why I enjoy reading about your finds is that I love history so much. When I see dresses like this I think, "Who wore this?" "Where was she going?" "Whom did she meet?" Can't wait to see your finds and discover the new history made with them!
ReplyDeleteall of these pieces are so lovely, my favorite is the one from 1955 vintage. that collar is wonderful!
