Today I've got a post highlighting a sort of home renovation..... a camper! My Aunt Paula and Uncle Bud have a cute little trailer that they've renovated into an ADORABLE vintage western cowgirl theme. Aunt Paula has done a great job adding adorable, thrifty touches and details that really make the tiny little postage-stamp-sized camper feel like home, and my Uncle Bud has used his mechanical skills to help make the design elements functional, too.
Here's what Aunt Paula had to say about the process:
What inspired you to delve into the cowgirl theme?
I got original art from a woman in Texas (Tina Wright), and her art is actually what inspired me to do it in 'cowgirl'.
What has the renovation been like, and what are some of your favorite parts?
I think it's one of the most fun projects we've ever had! Learning how to renovate and restore it has been so great. I looked for cheap ways to get the look we wanted and made several things to go with it. It gave me a cause to look for a hand pump, too! I found it for $12 at a flea market nearby, and maybe $20 for the basin, and Bud found old barn wood that he used for the countertop...
Here she is all decked out:
And, yes, the pump even works! |
Aunt Paula's art pieces accent the walls |
I love the bandana curtains and patchy denim quilt! I also love the "rope" accents on all the cupboard doors. |
Her camper adventures have also inspired some creativity, which you can check out here, here, here, and here. Below are some items you may have seen in her kitchen that stem from this camper love!
