At the end of December, the weather here got suddenly, pointlessly cold. There was no snow, just frigid, biting wind. However, there was a highlight! One of the friends Jacob met in Air Force training last summer was coming to town, so we got the chance to see her. Turns out, she is also a photographer and asked if I'd like to do an impromptu photo shoot. I always need photos for this blog, so that was a definite yes!

I dressed up a bit more than I normally do and wore my new me-made knit dress set (which I'm sharing a peek of here, more details to come later!), winter boots, stockings, a fur hat, and my very warm 1970s-does-40s coat.

I've come a long way in my modeling. Look at how comfortable I appear! Not like the sharp wind is freezing me to my soul at all! Haha!

My dear husband and friend, on the other hand, are not so practiced. But they were kind enough to bear it before we all went to lunch.

And as Missouri does, the temperature is back up to being unseasonably warm now... so now my fur hat and snow boots are back in the closet. Such an odd winter this year!

What's your go-to cold weather garment? Is there something you pull out and wear all the time during winter?

Oh I love your coat! And yes, this winter is so odd! What part of MO are you in? I'm from Mid-MO, and we had a bit of snow Christmas eve, no snow since, and a lot of cold until just a few days ago. But that's Missouri for you. . .
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I’m in Springfield. It was warm enough to go without a jacket today, but school has been canceled tomorrow for the coming icepocalypse. 🙄😂
DeleteThese are lovely photos! And your entire outfit here is just fabulous. The mix of brown and, is it navy? is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your knit dress- it looks lovely from the little peek we got here!
