As promised, here is a video tutorial showing my go-to pin curl set that I use to achieve my daily 'do. As I explained in my last post about my hair, the final look this set gives me can be altered by a couple variables:
- the length of my hair (newly trimmed vs. slightly longer)
- the length of time since my hair was permed
- how well the pin curls decide to brush out that day
- humidity
When I made this video, my hair was a bit shorter than it is now, so it looks a tiny bit different. However, the set is still the same!
Let me know if you have any questions, and I'd be glad to help!
This is so helpful! Thanks so much for making this. I want to start pin curling my hair, too. If I try your set, I'll let you know! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good to me! I'd love to see it!
DeleteWhy don't you use a setting gel or lotion, like dippity-do instead of the hairspray? Also do you wash the hairspray out every night?
ReplyDeleteInteresting video, easy to understand.
I just haven't needed it much. It's easier to find hairspray than a setting gel in my area, so I usually just roll with hairspray. It works well for me. I don't wash the hairspray out every night because I generally only wash my hair every few days.
DeleteThis is great, very clear. I like how you described the direction of your curls. Some tutorials are not very clear when showing their pin curl sets. My hair is much longer but I've had good luck using Lottabody setting lotion. I couldn't find it anywhere near by so I ordered some through Amazon. With your short hair a small bottle would last forever!

Ooooo, that's very good to know! I think I'll try it and what the difference is.
