Make New Friends, But Keep the Old... And Wear Vintage.

Flashback Summer: Make New Friends, But Keep the Old... And Wear Vintage

IT.
HAS.
HAPPENED.

I have met a real-live vintage lover.  At my university.  Who lives on the floor below me.

Not that I don't love all you cyber friends, but this is a fun moment in my life.

I saw Hannah on move-in day, and she was wearing a dress with a crinoline, so I knew immediately that we would have to talk (and be best friends, but I thought it best not to say that on the first encounter).  I have gotten to know her over the past few days and had lots of good "girdle talk" (my term for very vintagey things the average person doesn't know).  Turns out she just started a blog called Vintage Perfect as well.

Last Saturday, Hannah, our friends Emily and Ashlee (who converted to vintage for the day), and I went to Commercial Street here in Springfield to look through the vintage shops and flea markets.  It was a great time with kindred spirits!  It won't be the last time we go shopping there, but we have to spare our college wallets for a little while...

But didn't they all look adorable?!

Maybe you're a fan of hippie jumpsuits with matching built-in vests... but we are not.

  1. My dear, I am dancing a jig of happiness for you right now, believe me!!! In all my many years of wearing and loving vintage, I've never had a real life friend to share that passion with. It's so, so awesome that you've found one!!! I wish you two kindred vintage loving spirits the best of school years and friendships!

    1. Thank you very much, Jessica! I hope that someday you can find a real life vintage friend, too. If I were closer, I'd hang out with you!

  2. You all look wonderful! I wish more of my vintage loving friends lived closer. I'm so thankful Cori loves time traveling and dressing vintage but sometimes one just needs a day with the girls. :)

    1. That's a true story. All the girdle and pin curl talk is really best done with other ladies. :)

  4. This is great! It is so hard to find a "soul mate" to share ideas and fashion, you are a lucky girl, dear Lady!
