This past weekend I attended my first blogger conference, Go Blog Social 2015!  It took place in Kansas City, and I was very glad to at last find a blogger event happening in the Midwest U.S.  When they offered me a ticket to go, I said HECK YES and packed my bag!

I was a bit nervous because I attended by myself, and I had no idea what to expect!  (Not to mention, I'm REALLY directionally challenged in cities, and I had no navigator with me... it was a bit frazzling!)  I drove up the morning before the first session and found the building.  When I walked in, it was a blogger paradise!  Beautiful backdrops everywhere, good lighting, creative details, and fun props.  Yes.  This conference is geared toward lady bloggers, so it was all fabulous looking and phone-pic-friendly.

Throughout the next couple days, we had phenomenal speakers that are excelling in their fields come talk to us.  (You can see a list of some of them here on the Go Blog Social site.)  There was Laurie Davis, an entrepreneur that built her business with $50 and a Twitter account, a session on how to approach brands for partnerships by the bag company Lily Jade, and what to do to create a successful and professional campaign experience for a sponsor by Mandy Beyeler.  There were also sessions on authenticity, turning your blog into a business... so many!  So much good information!  So many notes taken!

We also got a bag of free stuff, whoop whoop!

One of my top favorite parts of the conference, though, was the opportunity to get to network with other bloggers.  I met so many wonderful ladies that I otherwise wouldn't even know existed, and I'm excited to keep in touch with them via the grand ol' interwebs!  I'm also hoping that a few of them will be popping up with some guest posts for you guys here soon!

All in all, I highly recommend that you other bloggers here in the Midwest consider attending a conference or workshop put on by Go Blog Social.  I'd love to see some more bakelite and Rosie scarves at the next one!

A few of us may have also done a mini photo shoot in an alley between sessions... because we're bloggers... it's what we do... #nojudgement.  I've put the links to the photographers' and participants' blogs below, so go check them out!  Enjoy!

I received a complimentary ticket to this blogger conference in return for an honest review of the event in a blog post.  All opinions are my own, and if you'd like to read more about my collaboration policies, click here.

  2. That sounds like so much fun! It must have been wonderful to get together with other people who understand #bloggerproblems, and exchange tips and funny stories and get advice. I feel like there must be something like this in Chicago, although none of my searching ever seems to pull anything up.
Love your outfit, btw. That scarf and pin curls are so cute!

  6. How seriously cool! There aren't any blogger events around these parts, but I'd totally be game for them, if there were. I smiled ear-to-ear when I saw you sharing a snap with Akram. It's always so cool to see two (or more) bloggers you know and follow together in the same photo.
