Breaking the Fashion Rules

I've heard it said amongst fashion rule-followers that one shouldn't wear black and brown together.

I really feel like that is ludicrous and definitely one of those rules that is meant to be broken.  I LOVE black and brown together.  Like, LOVE it.

Aria and I did a mini photo shoot in a park near our school, and she did a great job taking and editing the photos!

So what do you think of the black and brown combo?  Does it work for you?  Why or why not?

  2. Absolutely gorgeous ensemble. I think that virtually any two colours can be worn together, it's all about proportion and hue. I remember very clearly a day in kindergarten when I wanted to red and purple together. A family member told me they didn't match and that I looked horrible (such a mean thing to say to a five year old, I know). Instead of feeling crestfallen, I swore right then and there that I'd always dress however I wanted and whatever colours I desired when I grew up. Many years later I'm happy to say that I do just that - and sometimes even wear purple and red together! :)

    1. Haha, have you heard of the Red Hat Club? In many more years, sounds like that could be right up your alley!
Such a good resolution to make, wearing whatever you want no matter what people say. It makes it so much easier to simply be who you are and not have to do the balancing act of trying to please other people! That's great!

  3. I totally think that black and brown go together. I also heard that red and pink shouldn't go together, but I do that a lot too!

  4. Beautiful! Nancy and I were just talking about this on the way to the See's event last night - of course black and brown go together, and you demonstrate that wonderfully! So great to meet you yesterday - hope to see you again soon.
