So hurrah for you for making your little mishap work! Someday I plan on making myself a blazer... when I get up enough courage to do all the tailoring necessary. :)

Brigid
the Middle Sister and SingerThe Boyer Sistershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08954031354687928264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-21965675682623618472014-11-21T11:11:04.701-06:002014-11-21T11:11:04.701-06:00Congratulations! I'm so impressed and inspired by your sewing skills.

♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-60080065595968361442014-11-20T17:13:48.799-06:002014-11-20T17:13:48.799-06:00Oh!! I also have a bound buttonhole tool from Dritz. They have recently reintroduced this tool so it isn't expensive to buy. There is also one for large welt pockets too. Gertie also has an excellent way to do bound buttonholes and discusses it in her book. You did such a wonderful job. You always have such enthusiasm for your projects and they are so nice to see. Just lovely! It is so nice to see these patterns come to life. I often see Bemberg rayon in ads, I would love to have some of the novelty print fabric from this brand. I do have some lining but I haven't used it yet. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures. I especially love your button detail.Joannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16439393534029787165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-21617036981199488452014-11-19T18:54:51.069-06:002014-11-19T18:54:51.069-06:00Great job, the blue really is a great color on you...Great job, the blue really is a great color on you. I love the buttoned yoke of the skirt, which would help keep it slimmer under the blazer (than if the pleats continued to the waistband). And congrats on the welt pockets. The color is wonderful on you, and I am impressed that you sewed the suit in linen - so comfortable, so versatile. I love the scarf too, btw. Almost snood-like. :)Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13984770042827231909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-88757025069185390382014-11-19T08:52:09.967-06:002014-11-19T08:52:09.967-06:00I have a couple of 1940's suit patterns that I...
