I know that I want to knit a few little tops/cardigans for the summer so I am trying to plan when I would need to start them. I am hoping to squeeze in one more winter cardi after the one I am making though!Kate-Emhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15664293299445754159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-74170732278248223032015-02-05T07:11:16.835-06:002015-02-05T07:11:16.835-06:00That's a genius idea. My closet is getting full enough of goodies that I really need to narrow down what I want to get for summer to patch holes because we're past the point of impulse shopping. Of course, it's so cold right now that I have absolutely no desire to think about summer clothing...Franceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08213240635054488156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-87196980023999078212015-02-03T16:16:24.276-06:002015-02-03T16:16:24.276-06:00That sounds like an awesome book! It is a book of 20 vintage inspired sewing projects with patterns "for the boudoir". In there is a pattern for a 1940s bra top which I am going to attempt and also 1940s French knickers. I recently bought a lovely reproduction 1940s bra from What Katie Did but I couldn't justify buying the knickers too as they were a bit pricey for me. I'm hoping to be able to make my own now!
Also I'm looking to my wardrobe and deciding on what I'll be making for the summer as my New Years Resolution was to make one dress / garment a month. January has got off to a fine start as I have made two skirts!
Rowena xRowena Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03754324791917088449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-9651688657884100122015-02-03T12:23:20.584-06:002015-02-03T12:23:20.584-06:00I know what you mean about bra patterns! I'll definitely share when I get it done!
And I can't wait to see your palazzo pants pattern! I've always been intrigued by it, but never taken the plunge to buy and make it. Right after Christmas I suddenly had a Summer Sewing bug, so I drew out several plans that I hope to fulfill this Summer. But now that the cold has come back, and I'm shivering in my seat, Winter sewing is nagging at me once again. :)
It's funny that you mention Palazzo pants in your list of things to make, as I am hoping to release my Palazzo pants pattern by the end of the month (if all goes well).

Cheers!
Brigid
the Middle Sister and SingerThe Boyer Sistershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08954031354687928264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-51551066770662345302015-02-01T21:03:58.009-06:002015-02-01T21:03:58.009-06:00These are great plans Emileigh ~ I particularly li...These are great plans Emileigh ~ I particularly like your point about sewing up some solid color fabrics. I'm the same ~ way, way, way too many prints in my fabric stash, and not enough solids. And I do wear solids because I have a bunch that I either thrifted or bought and wear all the time. A must for this year's list of sewing; incorporate solids! ❤

bonita of Lavender & Twill
Lavender and Twillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06331125027969557539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-76307941839678895272015-02-01T18:31:17.697-06:002015-02-01T18:31:17.697-06:00Fantastic list and seriously solid practical advic...Fantastic list and seriously solid practical advice. Something I usually focus on when reassessing my current wardrobe is in regards where one is actually going/what they're doing. It's one thing to, say, adore vintage evening gowns, but if your summer is going to be spent at beach and in the backyard at home, they won't do you a lick of good, so it makes little sense to fill your closest, and drain your wallet, with them.

♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-90619781536825670852015-02-01T13:59:59.108-06:002015-02-01T13:59:59.108-06:00This sounds like a great list. However the smaller size was still a bit big on me, and I know you're very petite, so you might need to alter the pattern. My sewing skills are so totally not up to that part haha :)Helen Maehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08412020212960504803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7382754892322119466.post-63404621468808660482015-02-01T10:20:11.376-06:002015-02-01T10:20:11.376-06:00These are great tips, even if you're not makin...These are great tips, even if you're not making the items yourself. A lot of online shops with larger inventories (I'm thinking places like Asos or even Amazon) still have items from last summer lingering around at very steep discounts, so now can be a good time to snatch up nice pieces for bargain prices. I also need to get around to some of the mending that I had left over from when I was wearing (and tearing) some of my vintage items during warmer days, so thank you for the reminder on that.
Good luck with all of your wardrobing goals! I'd love to see how this process plays out in real time, as you get your things together for summer.
Cheers,
Jessica, Zella MaybeJessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06827840216337511678noreply@blogger.com
